Opening the Dialogue: Exploring the Importance of Discussing Sexual Terms with Children

Lately, there has been some contention around whether children should be educated on anything sexually related, with topics like gender identity, transgender, gender fluidity, and non-binary, to name a few, trending on social media.  On one side of the camp, you have people who do not think children should be exposed to this information, that […]

47% of Year 10-12 students have engaged in sexual intercourse

The National Survey of Secondary Students and Sexual Health in Australia found that by year 12, 55% of students have engaged in some form of sexual practice.  Yet, sex education in schools remains a mixed bag of information that is heavily hetereonormative and focused primarily on sex as a reproductive activity. Protect Yourself

Too many people receive confusing and conflicting information regarding sex, sexual health, and relationships.  This can make many vulnerable to harmful sexual behaviours and sexual exploitation. Yet, in a world of too much information, how do we know whether what we read is right or wrong?  The Bent Banana will teach you how to assess the validity of these information sources throughout your journey.
